Privacy Policy

CasperCare helps families find senior care. We are free for families and are paid by senior living providers only when a family we introduce decides to move in. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese.
Information you give us
When you use our quiz, our contact form, or speak with an advisor, we collect:
- Your name, phone number, and email address
- Your relationship to the person needing care
- Information about the person needing care: the kind of help they need day to day, memory or cognition concerns, the type of care you're exploring, how soon it's needed, and the ZIP code where you're looking
- Budget range and how care might be paid for (savings, long-term care insurance, VA benefits, Medicaid, home sale)
- Anything else you choose to tell us in a message or on a call
Some of this is sensitive. Information about someone’s daily care needs and memory is health-related, and we treat it that way: it is used to help you find appropriate care and for nothing else.
Information we collect automatically
- Your IP address and browser user agent, recorded with your consent so we have a verifiable record of when and how permission was given
- How you found us (search, referral, campaign, or the page you started from), so we understand which channels actually help families
- Basic technical information needed to operate and secure the site, including rate-limiting to prevent abuse
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site so we can make it better. When it is enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives usage data such as the pages you view, the type of device and browser you use, and a general sense of location. We use this to see which pages help families and which channels bring them to us, not to identify you personally.
You can turn this off. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site you visit. Blocking these cookies does not stop you from using CasperCare.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site so we can fix the parts that are confusing. Clarity records how visitors interact with our pages, such as clicks, scrolls, mouse movement, and which pages they move between, and it rebuilds the layout of each page so we can replay a visit and see where someone got stuck. It also builds heatmaps showing where visitors tend to click and scroll, and it collects basic diagnostic and performance information about how pages load.
Clarity uses cookies and similar identifiers that can connect a visitor’s activity into a single session, so this is not fully anonymous. What it does not capture is what you enter: the fields on the quiz and the contact form, including your name, phone, email, ZIP, and your message, are masked and are never uploaded, and we also mask the quiz sections about care needs, memory, and budget. Microsoft provides Clarity as one of our service providers. You can manage or block cookies in your browser as described above, and doing so does not stop you from using CasperCare.
Our funding tool also saves the answers you enter in your own browser, so you do not lose them if you come back. That information stays on your device and is not sent to us unless you submit a form.
How we use your information
- To have a local advisor contact you and understand your situation
- To recommend senior care options that fit the care needs, budget, and location you told us about
- To introduce you to specific communities you want to be introduced to, and to arrange tours
- To follow up during your search and after a move-in
- To keep a record of the consent you gave, which the law requires us to be able to prove
- To operate, secure, and improve the service
We do not use your information to train shared or third-party AI models.
Your consent to be contacted
When you check the consent box on our form, you agree that CasperCare may contact you at the phone number and email address you provide (including by automated dialing or texting technology) about senior care options. Consent is not a condition of any service, and message and data rates may apply.
We record consent separately for each channel you actually gave us. If you never gave us an email address, we do not record email consent.
You can stop this at any time. Reply STOP to any text, tell any advisor to stop contacting you, or email hello@caspercaremn.com. We honor opt-outs across every channel, not just the one you used.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not distribute your details across a market of providers.
We share it in only three situations:
- Senior living communities you are being introduced to. When you and your advisor decide to move forward with a specific community, we share what that community needs to help you. We tell you which communities we introduced you to.
- Service providers who operate the platform for us, under contract and only to provide their service: our hosting and database providers, our analytics provider, our email delivery provider, and (as they come online) our phone/text and payment providers.
- Legal requirements. If the law requires disclosure, or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
How we make money, and what it means for your data
Providers pay us a referral fee only when a family we introduced moves in. The size of any fee never affects which communities we recommend to you, and we show you licensed communities that pay us nothing. You can read the full explanation on how we’re paid.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Stop contacting you, on any or all channels
To make any of these requests, email hello@caspercaremn.com with the details. We will respond within the timeframe the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy law. We extend the rights listed above to everyone, regardless of state.
One limit worth being straight about: the record of consent you gave us is a legal record we are required to be able to produce. If you ask us to delete your information, we delete your personal details and stop contacting you, but we retain the minimum record showing that consent was given and later withdrawn.
How long we keep it
- Your contact and care information: for as long as we are helping you, and afterwards while you may return to us for the next stage of care, unless you ask us to delete it
- Consent and opt-out records: retained as a legal record, as described above
- Records of an introduction to a provider and any resulting move-in: retained as a business and financial record
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it to do their jobs, and every action taken on a family’s record by our staff is logged. No system is perfect, but we treat this data as sensitive because it is.
Children
CasperCare is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the law requires it, notify you directly.
